Kati and I have lately visited several public saunas here in the US. We have noticed that many sauna goers wear sauna hats. We find it surprising that the hats are made of 100% wool. But there is a good reason for that. Pure wool insulates well and protects the head from heat and hair from drying.
There are many kinds of designs for hats, but common to all of them is that they never look too serious. A sauna hat should be something fun to wear.
We found a Finnish company who has really cute colorful hats. How delicious is the one in the above picture!
